Meet Dr. Carrie Schram
MD FCFP MPH
Dr. Carrie Schram is a fertility-focused family physician who joined the HFC team in 2011. She currently serves as Senior Medical Director and has been the Medical Director of HFC’s Natural Conception Program since 2019.
Dr. Schram earned her medical degree from Queen’s University, followed by a residency in Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. She also completed a Women’s Health Fellowship at Queen’s University and holds a Master of Public Health from the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Schram holds a CPSO Scope of Practice Change to include Fertility Medicine and a GP Focused Practice Designation in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She maintains hospital appointments at Women’s College Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital and is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto,
Her academic work includes authoring the Reproductive Health chapter in Caring for LGBTQ2S People: A Clinical Guide (2nd Edition), published in 2022, and presenting five peer-reviewed posters at the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society Annual Meeting in 2025.
Dr. Schram is actively involved in medical education. She regularly teaches undergraduate and postgraduate learners through lectures, small group learning, obstetrical skills training, and clinical teaching. She is also involved in teaching physicians completing fellowships in LGBTQ2S+ care.
Dr. Schram’s clinical interests include LGBTQ2S+ reproductive health, comprehensive family planning, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and improving equity and access to care in fertility medicine.
